They say time is money, but how do we get more money with our time? If not money, how the heck do we just have more time in general? Good question.....We all get the same amount. How is it that some folks say there's no time, and others are walking around looking for more things to add to their plate?
In today's blog, I wanna share some things I'm learning in 2021. It’s a new year’s goal of mine to learn how to manage my time more effectively and I'm excited to share some tips with you based on my experience thus far:
Remember, I'm human and still am learning, but here’s a couple of things that have worked for me. And it’s all about habits! ALWAYS about habits actually…Remember this post about mindset found here?
Anywho, my first point:
1.) Wake up early! Whether you’re a stay at home mom, working dad, sister, brother, etc….waking up is your best medicine! Wake up with the chickens. That’s right, stop hitting the snooze button and get outta bed. I’ve always been a morning person for the most part, but I’ve recently realized how valuable getting up early can be. Think about it. You have your WHOLE day ahead of you if you’re not wasting it in bed.
2.) Write stuff down and/or set reminders. Lord knows I forget all….the….time! I’ve recognized that if I don’t jot something down the moment I think of it (especially groceries) I forget. Who’s with me? Can I get an amen? Don’t feel like you’re an ol’ fogie if you have to write lists. It’s actually been therapeutic for me. Just don't forget where ya put that little list.
3.) Realize some stuff can wait. The dishes, the clothes, food, it all can be overwhelming. I am queen of worrying about a spotless home, but the fact of the matter, some stuff can wait. I heard this on a video recently and am trying to utilize this more in my daily life. Tackle the big stuff first, and the small things at another time. Great tip!
4.) Find a moment of joy every day. Look for the silver lining, check out the clouds, smile at the stars…do SOMETHING that brings you passion and excitement. I’ve noticed the more I run around like a chicken with my head cut off, the less productive I am. Dang-- must like chickens, I've used them twice in this post today, haha! By taking the time to do something (even just for 5 minutes) a day, I am able to actually be my best self and move on to the next task.
5.) Say no. Oh lord, sweet baby Jesus! This one is hard for me….But again, I’m learning. That two little word seems easy for a toddler, but why so hard as an adult? The art of understanding what you can and cannot do is a process. But you can not commit to everything all the time.
6.) Plan ahead. I’ve really had to do this with everything it seems lately. Not everything will always go as planned, but having a plan is better than none at all.
These are some concepts I’m utilizing this more year to become a more higher-vibrational being. In essence, each one has made an impact on my life in some form or fashion so far in 2021. I'm excited to tackle more!
Making good use of your time can improve stress, more success in life, and more opportunities. I urge you to start taking on those 24 hours and own it. They are yours and it’s time to make the best of them!
Have any more tips? Lemme know, I’d be happy to hear them. Comment, share with a friend, and remember….till the next time….Take care of yourself body, mind, and spirit.
Your mindset matters!
With gratitude,
Kayla
